Hello my watchers/non-watchers/kind visitors, and of course, hello spammers!

I don't know from where to begin because there's a lot to say about this kind of subject called spam.

I've seen that some of people on deviantart.com don't really know what the word spam means, so I will try to be smart with the help of my little friend wikipedia, and use a chance while it's not blocked by SOPA, PIPA and all the other annoying short names. So, here it is (annoying but useful definition):

"Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. While the most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media: instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs, wiki spam, online classified ads spam, mobile phone messaging spam, Internet forum spam, junk fax transmissions, social networking spam, television advertising and file sharing network spam. There are two known origins of the phrase, one being that it is an acronym for Short Pointless Annoying Messages, and the other being that it derived from the luncheon meat product Spam, by way of a Monty Python sketch in which Spam is included in almost every dish.

Spamming remains economically viable because advertisers have no operating costs beyond the management of their mailing lists, and it is difficult to hold senders accountable for their mass mailings. Because the barrier to entry is so low, spammers are numerous, and the volume of unsolicited mail has become very high. In the year 2011, the estimated figure for spam messages is around seven trillion. The costs, such as lost productivity and fraud, are borne by the public and by Internet service providers, which have been forced to add extra capacity to cope with the deluge. Spamming has been the subject of legislation in many jurisdictions.[1]

A person who creates electronic spam is called a spammer.[2]"

I'm sure many of you received  messages about earning money, buying tshirts, getting free gift certificates from Starbucks, free books, free ipods. I have to give you some little examples and  feature our little buddy spammers and spambots. These kindly visited my page in the last couple of hours:

kinda fresh. Need a new phone? Go to [link] you can get the iPhone 5 before release to test and keep!.

...And of course (mustn't forget them) deviants with something nice will happen/someone will die/you'll get a kiss from the person you love five pharagraphs ... scroll down.... scroll down... scroll down messages. But you must know that mentioned thing will happen only IF you send this message to 1 000 000 000 people. If you miss and send it to  999 999 999 people, sorry bro, the dream won't come true. You must count well.

Feel free to show the featured artists some love and +watch them.

Favorite their art (if they posted any), say a little welcome message if they are a new member, ask them if they need any help.

...Yes, I'm spamming with sarcastic now.

Now, more serious stuff (I know, I know, it's too early, but I'll try to put this in short words):

:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred:
Many of the links they share can be links to some phishing sites, and they can harm your computer and personal data.
Do not click, even though they are giving free Ipods and Iphones.
Just remember that nothing is free these days.

:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred:

Last, but not the least, you can send me the link to a spammer/spambot so I can give them a little feature in this journal article, and help them get more exposure (something like :icongetwatchers:, but for spammers). We can report them together.

Thank you for reading this, and please fav this article so it can get more exposure and get to people before someone gets in trouble.

Hugs from Mia

That's why I don't trust the crap it's stupid and the society gets screwed over credit and money related It's one of the reasons we're on dept too I bet and the government may track you down for like example "free music" well If you cant even afford to clean yourself I'd be careful alot :no: and it just makes me sick to my stomach about them wanting money all the time what is happiness anyways.

I did spam once over this cat :icontvcatplz: for fun, not for stealing crap though for a little bit (on the fun side) ^^. I just want the darn cat's icon to be well known. But it wasn't major so I stopped or I'll get in trouble by Spamming something that stupid... You may use the cat btw free I made the account now Go!!! XD

And Have a nice day/night everyone :D

I hate spammers.:angered: I've had the whole "You could win a *insert random technological device here* by going to this link". It's so annoying.

I also hate the chain letters that people send around. People are so gullible.
