Death Note

What I’d do with a functioning Death Note:

1. Make sure who I kill really deserve to die-I will look at their behaviour and the crimes they’re suspected (or have been convicted of). Once there’s evidence that they’ve done something evil enough to deserve death (rape, murder, large scale destruction of the environment, and I consider murder the least serious on the list), then I’ll kill them. It corrupts, so I’ll stave off the corruption.

2. Fly under the radar-I will not scream “Hey, I’m God!”, and will keep my identity anonymous and limit how many I kill at a time. I will cover up anything supernatural, by spacing out my killings, and making them seem like accidents, suicides and anything that’s not at all supernatural-seeming.

3. Do research-I need to know their names and faces, and I will also observe their patterns. This way, I can plan out a death that cannot be linked back to me, and raises few red flags.

4. Plan ahead-For example, as tempting as it is to kill a tyrant, I need to ask, “Will it really make the world a better place?” I also need to make sure that I always have a backup plan, and avoid exposure. Even if people just think that it’s merchandise, its secrets will be revealed. Plans within plans are needed.

5. Hide it-I will guard its location with my life, and will be the only handler. The more people know I have it, the more problems I have on my hands. It will have multiple hiding spots, and I will swap it around randomly, so that nobody knows.

6. Have someone else do the dirty work-I can write that “On Date X, Y will be murdered by Z.” Or make it an animal attack. That way, they’d never find me.

7. Freshen up my MO-While avoiding anything that looks supernatural/indicts me, I won’t always kill via heart attack. If all my victims die in various ways, people will chalk it up to bad luck.

These seven rules will make me the Kira that all others wished they were, because I am a lot smarter than them.
